November Favorites

Falalalala December is here!

This truly is the most wonderful time of the year! There are so many exciting events in this month and each is more fun than the next! Christmas movies, music, decorations and treats are simply the best! Also our Christmas tree is finally up and it really makes the whole month so cheerful. To top it all off, December is my birthday month {which is a blessing and a curse}. Now that November is over I have round up some of my favorites of the month...

  • Black Friday: Enough said this is the most thrilling shopping of the year. So many great deals and the rush of shopping late at night and early in the morning makes it that much more fun! Also as a shopping addict, it is amazing to have a day that essentially celebrates shopping {though it is not all for me, mostly...partly}
  • Hello: ...its me. I have loved this song and may be known to belt this out in the car...it is really a perfect fall song and Adele is simply amazing. Inspired by this song, I made a new Spotify playlist that includes old Adele,
  • Darkness: I have an addiction...to black. I cannot stop wearing it  and it has become so bad that I am forcing myself to wear a non-black/grey color one day a week {haha}. Also I'm pretty sure I have worn the same two nail colors for the past few months, I cannot stop! I've been alternating between a dark purple and a deep red because they are so perfect for winter months. I do not see this changing any time soon :)
  • The Skimm: This has become a part of my morning ritual. It is a morning news newsletter that summarizes current events so that you can get a quick catch-up on world news. I love how quick it is and it covers more than just the headliner news stories. Definitely give it a try, I love it!

The countdown to Christmas begins! Thanks for reading!

Be Thankful

"No one has ever become poor by giving." -Anne Frank

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope you have a wonderful day celebrating all that you have with your family and friends! This quotes gives a new perspective on this day. Yes, we should reflect on all that we are lucky to have, but also think about the people who do not have a safe and loving home filled with people they love. Be sure to give time to people in need. I promise you will gain more than you can imagine than any time you may lose. Something as little as donating food to a shelter will go miles. Thank you so much for reading.

Have a lovely weekend and don't be afraid to take an extra slice of pie!

Would you rather...

Boots or booties?

Hey, November! Where did you come from? Well, after months and months of sandals, I am always so excited to break out the boots and to create outfits around them. But then comes the decision of which pair to wear? Do you go for the edgy black leather booties or the classic brown riding boots? Decisions, decisions...

I'm more of a tall riding boots person, but I also love the look of booties with a dress or sweater. Here are some classic looks that give ideas on how to wear both boot styles.

So tell me......boots or booties? I know I need to pick up a new pair of OTK boots!

It is crazy to think Thanksgiving is in two weeks and Christmas will be here before you know it! I am cherishing all things fall before we have to say goodbye for a whole year. Soon it will be all about peppermint and sparkly gifts {and I have no problems with that}! How has your fall been so far?

Fall Beauty Inspiration

Is it weird to have a favorite make-up season? Well if it's wrong, then I do not want to be right!

Fall make-up is all about dark, sultry colors like plum, bronze, and scarlet (and these might just be my favorite colors!). I am in love with fall make-up looks and I have been overwhelmed with inspiration from Pinterest, YouTube, and around the Internet. This look from Jaclyn Hill - LOVE! I love a dark bronze eye paired with a deep plum lip, or even smoky eye with a nude lip. They are so perfect for fall to go with sweaters and dresses. Although these looks may be more for the evening, I have been loving a subtle-smoky brown eye paired with a glossy pink-plum lip for everyday.

Nails are just as important as make-up. Ironically I love the same colors for my nails - browns, purples, and nudes. Recently I have been switching between a dark purple-almost-brown color and a nude nail with glitter. Random fact - my favorite nail polish brand is Ulta. The colors are so pigmented and most of them are quite glossy on their own. They are pretty durable and they last me about five to six days with a base coat, two color coats and sometimes a top coat. Also you can usually catch them on sale for two dollars a bottle, yep that's right TWO dollars! Definitely try the shade "Aubergine Queen", it's my favorite. The nude color I have been using is OPI Tutti Fruti Tonga. It's an old shade so I'm not sure if it is still available. Other colors perfect for fall are reds, blues and any pretty much any deep color. I am in love with the Essie Fall Collection, so definitely check it out!

And as for hair, two words: volume and waves.

Here's some inspiration...

September Favorites

Why hello, October!

For me, fall doesn't really begin until late November when temperatures finalllly cool down in the south. However, I can still pretend that fall has begun, right? October is the month when pumpkins are a' plenty and you can finally break out all the fall decor and recipes. October is the true beginning of fall to me and I am itching to break out the sweaters and riding boots. Here are some of my favorites for the past month...

  • PSL: Yup. I'm fairly basic, but I really don't care as long as I have a Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks. The warm flavors bring such a happy, cozy mood that they can cause quite an addiction. This is my go-to order for fall {except for the occasional Cinnamon Dolce Latte - my other love} as I have to sip down as many as I can before they go out and the Christmas flavors come out {is it too early to be thinking about Christmas?}. I'm also eager to try out the newest fall drink - Toasted Graham Latte - anyone try it yet?
  • Fall Premieres: Possibly more exciting than lattes are the start-ups of all my favorite fall shows. Grey's Anatomy - yup! Scandal - oh yes! Castle - so exciting! I have been missing them all summer and I finally feel complete with their return! {dramatic much? Go Gladiators!}
  • Essie Fall Collection: Basically Essie took all my favorite colors and put together a collection with them - kidding! But really the colors are beautiful with my favorite being the deep plum. Even without buying the whole set, I was inspired by the colors and used my own collection at home to get my nails ready for fall!
  • September Issues: Every year I look forward to this month's issues as they are HUGE and filled with inspiration for the upcoming season. I am especially loving Queen B on the cover of Vogue - she is stunning as always!
  • Brand New by Ben Rector: I came across this song on another blog, and I have been obsessed with it this month! It's so happy, catchy, and definitely causes spontaneous dance parties! You MUST listen to it now and let me know what you think!
  • Spotify: I have been very loyal to my Pandora stations for forever, but I recently switched to Spotify, and am not turning back anytime soon! Why didn't someone tell me about the amazingness that is Spotify. It was slightly intimidating at first but I am slowly building up my song playlist and I love it so much. I love how I can pick all my favorite songs. It's so perfect for study sessions. Life changing - yes!

Do you have any favorites in common with me? Do tell below!

Another reason I love fall is that bikini season is over and sweater season is approaching. This means no more calorie {or cookie} counting for a while and cozy over-sized sweaters can cover up any gains! I hope you have a delightful week and I'll be back soon with some more fall inspiration.

Trendy Thursday: Fringe Everything!

Good Morning!

As you probably know, last week was New York Fashion Week. I always love following along via social media to see the beautiful looks walking down the runways. One trend that has been quite repetitive is FRINGE! This trend will be perfect this fall to accompany the growing 70s boho style as seen with peasant tops and flared jeans.

I put together some simple, affordable ways to wear this trend this fall. One of my favorites is the fringe boots; they seem so effortless and are an easy way to add texture to an outfit.

Can you imagine twirling in that mini skirt?? Also note that the faux suede tote bag is currently 50% off, making it just over $25! What a steal and a perfect fall basic! What is your favorite way to wear fringe this fall?

As always, thanks so much for reading!

July Favorites

Good Morning!

Here are some of my very favorites from the month of July, they are a bit random...

  • Iced White Chocolate Mocha: I tried this for the first time last week and I loved it! I am not very adventurous at Starbucks {I typically get an iced cinnamon dolce latte, so good hot too}, but I went outside my coffee comfort zone and I have a new favorite.
  • UD Naked Smoky Palette: Isn't this gorgeous? I love the range of greys and neutrals in it and I dream of all the looks it could create. I already own the Naked2 palette, but this one is definitely on my wish list.
  • BP Booties: Yes, I know it is 100 degrees outside, but these booties are perfect for fall! The heel is not too high, and they would be perfect with leggings or with a flowy dress. They are simple and would dress up any basic fall or winter outfit. These are a part of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and the price is right for a classic boot.
  • Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn: THIS BOOK! I am reading it for a school paper, however I fell in love with it! It is definitely the creepiest, most disturbing, twisted book I have ever read, but it is so worth it. Definitely give it a try if you're into thrillers and let me know what you think. ;)

Can you believe it? Today is the last day of July and the summer is almost over! This means the days will be getting shorter and school is just around the corner. No more lazy days of watching countless Grey's Anatomy episodes for me... This weekend I have some beach plans for a friend's birthday, so I am hoping to catch some sun before the summer is up!

What are some of your favorites from this summer? Any weekend plans?

Happy Weekend!

Summer Florals

Although florals are typically associated with spring, they easily transition into summer and even fall! The most versatile floral patterns are warmer colors like reds, purples and deep pinks. I put together some items that will be sure to transition seamlessly throughout the seasons. Bonus: all items are $120 or less and mostly on sale! I think those floral slide-ons are perfect for summer travels. They also would be darling with skinnies and a oversized t-shirt this fall.

Happy Thursday!

January Wish List

Recently I have been doing lots of online browsing and my wish list has grown quite a bit. So I wanted to share it with y'all! I have wanted a few more tops and dresses so that is mostly what I have been looking for and a few extras.

Seriously, this is me in a dress! The bow detail and the lace sleeves make this dress so sweet. It has been going out of stock often, and I may have been stalking it and just snatched it up when my size was available. I am pretty dang excited!

Actually, this has been on my wish list for about a year. I much prefer a smaller cross-body style bag to a large tote and this is the perfect size. It is a bit expensive for such a small bag, but the main reason I have not bought it yet is that I cannot decide on a color. I am debating between the black {which would match nearly everything and show minimal wear} and the soft blue {which is a gorgeous color and more unique, but it would show wear and might not match everything}. Let me know in the comments what you think!

I admit to having a thing for lace. My style is definitely quite feminine, so lace fits in with that. I cannot even count how many lace shirts, dresses, and shorts {yes, shorts} that I own. I need help! I love this shirt mostly for its flutter sleeves, but I also like that it is not too long like many of the shirts I have seen lately. And - lace!

I found this after seeing the other lace tee and loved it just as much, plus it is on sale! This tee has a different lace pattern and an adorable ruffle hem. Also, this shirt is not form fitting at all which is quite flattering. I would pair this with skinnies and boots for a quick outfit!

What's on your wish list? Looking forward to summer clothes again?
